Privacy Policy

1. Overview
At Workstak, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, process, and share your information when you access or use the Workstak platform (workstak.co) or join our waitlist and Buyers' Club. This document reflects our compliance with major data protection frameworks, including the GDPR, CCPA, and Australian Privacy Act.
2. Data We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us and information generated through your use of the Platform:
- Identity & Account Data: Name, email address, and account credentials managed securely via our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Waitlist & Referral Data: Email address and optional metadata (such as job roles or tools used) provided during waitlist signup. We also collect referral codes and track referrer/referee relations to attribute sign-up rewards and bonuses.
- Subscription Payment Data: Details about subscription transactions (processed securely via Stripe for the Buyers' Club membership). Workstak does not store or process your credit card numbers or raw financial data.
- Claim and Log Data: When a Club member claims a promotional code for a third-party tool, we log the user ID, listing ID, unique code claimed, and timestamp to enforce limits (e.g., one claim per user per tool per year) and troubleshoot code delivery.
3. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, attribute referral links, and analyze traffic. Specifically, we use cookies for referrer tracking and employ Vercel Analytics to monitor aggregate user interaction and platform performance. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use your information to operate the Workstak platform, verify subscription status, process membership signups via Stripe, track referrals, manage waitlists, deliver promo codes, and improve our curation processes. We do not use split-payments or Stripe Connect; you purchase partner tools directly on the partners' sites using our codes.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with the following parties:
- Sellers & Partners: To troubleshoot promotional code verification or issues with code claims, we may share basic transactional log details with the respective Seller. Workstak does not share your raw credit card information or direct billing logs with partners.
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who provide crucial infrastructure, such as payment processing (Stripe), authentication (Clerk), and application hosting (Vercel). We ensure these providers have strict data protection agreements (DPAs) in place.
- Legal Requirements: If required to do so by law, court order, or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
6. Cross-Border Data Transfers
Workstak operates globally. Your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own. Specifically, personal information we collect is stored and processed on servers located in the United States of America (via infrastructure partners such as Stripe, Clerk, and Vercel). We ensure appropriate legal safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions) are in place to protect your data internationally.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. You can manage your data via your account dashboard or contact our privacy team to exercise these rights. We process all such requests in accordance with applicable laws.
Complaints: If you reside in Australia and believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, you may submit a complaint to hello@workstak.co. We will respond within 30 days. If you remain unsatisfied, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
