How Workstak makes money (Disclosure)

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Workstak is independent and reader-supported. We'd rather tell you exactly how the lights stay on than have you guess. Workstak is operated by Barry Winata trading as Argon Labs (ABN 81 869 843 092).

Affiliate links

Some links on workstak.co are affiliate links. You'll recognise them because they start with workstak.co/go/. If you click one and later sign up or buy, the vendor may pay us a commission. It never costs you anything extra.

We work with affiliate programs run directly by vendors and through platforms including Dub, Rewardful, and PartnerStack. When you click a /go/ link, we record the click (without your IP address or any cookie) and send you to the vendor with a referral tag (for example via=workstak); for some programs the link passes through Dub, which also records the click. The vendor may set its own referral cookie on its site. Our Privacy Policy has the details.

Commission never affects listings or ranking

  • We decide what to list, and how to rank and describe tools, before and regardless of whether there's an affiliate program.
  • Many tools we list earn us nothing. Some tools with generous affiliate programs aren't listed, because they didn't pass our testing.
  • Vendors can't pay to be listed, pay for a better position, or pay for a better verdict.
  • If a commercial relationship ever changes how something appears, we'll label it clearly. There is no paid placement anywhere on the site.

Our copy is written independently

Our verdicts and reviews are written by us, based on our own testing. Vendors don't write, approve, or edit them, and deal terms such as commission rates don't shape what we say. If we stop rating a tool well, we'll say so even if it pays us.

Reader perks are tested

Some listings include reader perks, such as discount codes or extended trials. Perks come from vendors. Before listing a perk, we test it at checkout to confirm it works. Vendors can change or withdraw perks at any time, so check the final price before you pay. If a perk doesn't work, email us at legal@workstak.co and we'll chase it up.

Newsletter sponsorships

The Alpha Work newsletter is supported by sponsors, which we book through Passionfroot.

  • Each issue has at most one sponsored slot, and it's clearly labelled as sponsored.
  • Sponsors don't influence the rest of the issue, and sponsorship never affects directory listings, rankings, or verdicts.
  • Sponsorship doesn't mean we've tested or endorse the sponsor's product unless we say so. If a sponsor is also listed in the directory, that listing went through the same testing as every other tool.

Workstak Runtime and Labs

We also earn money from Workstak Runtime (our done-for-you systems build service) and Workstak Labs products. If we ever recommend a tool in a context where we have a commercial relationship beyond a standard affiliate link, we'll disclose it.
